So I'm just wondering... a couple of things, really. First of all, how many people are here who are under the age of twenty? It feels like that's a lot of people here - more than you'd usually see in any kind of population. Has anyone tracked that kind of stuff?

And second...

How many people had what people might call... powers or abilities or magic at home? Like, stuff that most people can't do but you can do? I'm not counting if you come from some kind of world where magic is common, but where it's rare and people would stare at you for doing it, that's what I mean.

Th... that's what I was wondering. Let me know. I'm not trying to like... track people down or something. I'm just curious.

Hehe, it is! I kinda miss being able to use it, but it's not the worst thing to be without. Just makes fixing stuff a lot slower.

Yeah, I can guess. I can see a lot of people relying on it, though. Like - why learn how to fix anything the slow way when you can just do it with alchemy?

Well, for one you have to study a whole lot to be able to even start. There's a lot of chemical formulas involved, and most people study well into adulthood to master it. Plus you have to have the ability to channel your energy to fuel the reactions, and like I said, it's not uncommon, but most people don't have enough to do much.

... That sounds a lot like studying science. Huh. Maybe it's not so different after all. Minus the energy coming from a person, but still.

It is a science, just a very unique one. The energy is essentially burning calories without physical effort being made, and if you're very powerful a little bit from a more spiritual source that's more difficult to pinpoint.

Yeah I... what I do is technically science, not magic, but it's more advanced than my world has so it looks like magic.

Oh, really? What is it? Did people come to your world the same way we've been pulled here?

Not really. They flew on spaceships.

Really? You mean they really traveled through space?

[HOLY SHIT THAT IS THE COOLEST THING]

Well... yeah. They didn't exactly have other options.

That's so cool! I can't imagine what it must be like to travel between planets like that!

It's all right. It can take a really long time, depending how you go about it.
