[In an inn room. He finally sprung for one tonight, yeah. Tobias turns the camera around and grins, though it's a little bit of a crooked grin. His last birthday... didn't go so well. Or was that the birthday before? The last birthday he paid attention to the date on, at least. Anyway.]

What kind of stuff do you guys do for your birthday where you're from? I never really did much for mine, so I decided to get a room for the night. It's kind of nice here, though it's sort of expensive...

I don't... know how much a yen is compared to a dollar. But I'll take a look. We're still in Violet, so it's not a huge city, but maybe when we get back to Goldenrod there'll be more choices.

I'm trying to beat this gym, too. I think we're close. Volts is excited about it, at least.

I think we'll be fine. The gym after Violet, in... Azalea? It's a bug-type gym, which shouldn't be a problem at all for us.

Oh yeah! I don't really know too much about the different types, but the guy in Violet uses flying types, right? I hope my Pokémon will have a chance against him!

Flying types take extra damage from... let's see. Electric, ice, and rock-type moves. They take half damage from bug, fighting, and grass types, and no damage from ground-type.

... I have a lot of flying types.

Well, just because they're grass-type doesn't mean they don't learn other kinds of moves, right? Like my Zebstrika knows a fire move. I have no idea how, but...

Oh yeah! Like how Chira - she's my psychic cat - knows an electric move! I was really surprised when she suddenly started shooting lightning everywhere! Maybe it's because she's so fluffy, so there's a lot of static electricity?

[ Mimi has no idea if that even makes any sense, but that's never stopped her. ]
