I am what some would call "Death."

I don't actually kill anyone, though, so I don't much care for the title. I just guide them to the afterlife when their time comes.

Well, you asked if I wasn't human before coming here and I answered. I'm a spirit being that guides souls of the dead to the afterlife, humans just happen to call me "Death" or "the Grim Reaper."

Oh, you get used to that.

I had a human form that I would use to walk around, so I'm used to it already.

If you'd like to fly, get a big flying Pokemon and Violet City's badge, then you can go anywhere.

i think it might take my pokemon a while to grow up

and i dont think were ready to take on that gym yet

That's all right, dear, you'll get your bearings soon enough. Electric Pokemon are very easy to come by, and as for a big flying Pokemon...I'm a breeder, I could work on breeding one for you if you'd like. Once you've got your badge, that is.

i have a rufflet but i dunno how long it takes him to evolve

but i have a blitzle who likes battling so he should be helpful

Rufflet are slow growers, but they become quite magnificent when they evolve. I should like to raise one myself someday!

Your Blitzle would be fantastic against Falkner! If you're in the Violet City area, there are also Mareep around--they're quite strong, too. If you can find Shinx they're also very strong when they grow. Mine became a strong Luxray, although he's quite shy.

oh okay. i'm not really worried about him evolving, i just didn't know.

he's learning a lot of weird moves too. i don't mind, it's just... i don't get some of the logic. then again this place doesn't always seem to follow logic.

i wonder if falkner would get a kick out of the fact that he'd be battling a former bird.

Oh, you meant yourself? Interesting, I haven't encountered a former non-human that was originally an animal yet.

But that can't have been all there was to you, or else you wouldn't have been brought here. Whatever brings us seems to like a certain amount of sentience in its conquests.

it's kind of a long story? but basically my friends and i got given a power to fight an invasion. but it's got a time limit.

Well, the nice thing about being human is that you can eat a lot of different things, if you remember that! If you're ever in Goldenrod, I've got a sweets shop you can stop by.

i've been wandering around a lot. the food is good here, though. i like staying outside of the cities.

Nothing wrong with that, the nice thing about this world is it seems to be in a time where a proper balance has been brought between technology and nature. Though Goldenrod is rather developed, it at least has the ocean to offset the big buildings.

I suppose you're more of a naturalist survivor type?

yeah. it just makes me more comfortable. and i don't see why i should pay for an inn when i'm fine sleeping outside.
