|1| [Video/Action for near New Bark Town]

[There's a... very uncertain-looking young man peering into the camera. He's really not sure what to make of any of this. It's a little hard to believe that he's like this, and he can't morph, and that there are Pokemon.]

[... He's trying to keep it together.]

So... uh.

[Great start, Tobias.]

I guess... I'm stuck here? No one in town really had anything useful to say. None of this makes much sense. And I'm guessing asking how to get home isn't going to get me any real answers, either.

[There's a squawk off-camera, and he looks concerned for a minute.]

I'm guessing the first step is to head to the next town, right? And start building up a team...

[... Why did he make this broadcast anyway?]

... If anyone's got any advice for that kind of thing, feel free to give it.

[He clicks the broadcast off.]

[Action]

[He's not in New Bark Town anymore. He's nearby, but he's sitting in a small area free of tall grass, staring down his Pokemon. What's a Rufflet, anyway? ... At least the body language is familiar. He holds out his hand, waiting for the little Pokemon to approach.]

[... This might take a while.]

Mm. Most do, with time.

{Nanao sits there for a moment, idly turning her Yamask's ball over in her hands.}

Ah... I have to say that I had an ulterior motive for coming to talk to you. {that didn't sound creepy at all}

The Pokedex should have it handy in it.

It looks like everyone has already given you a lot of good advice! You probably don't need anymore, but...

Well, in my two cents, from what I've read, Jolteon is a really wonderful electric type to balance out that Rufflet you have. [Yes, he may have eavesdropped on the other conversations, sssshhh they were public anyway] They're extremely quick! So if getting the drop on your opponent is something you're interested in, they're a good choice.

I actually breed Eevees, which are a pre-evolution for Jolteon... I wouldn't mind giving you one for free when my next batch is bred. When you have enough money after working in maybe Cherrygrove, I wouldn't mind buying a Thunderstone for you here in Goldenrod and sending it to you over the PC.

There are some thing it seems you can only get here in the big city, I'm afraid...

[Garry, helpful Eevee guy. To be fair, they're a good investment Pokemon.]

I'm Garry, by the way.

Really, though. Watch out for those owls. Good luck.

{Nanao can't help but smile at the fluffball, but it only lasts for a moment before she pushes up her glasses and assumes a rather serious look.}

In the world that I came from, I had... what one might call supernatural abilities. Upon waking up here, I found that I no longer am able to access those abilities.

{Deep breaths, Nanao.}

What I am trying to ask is this: did you, too, lose any abilities you had before?

[WOW ROOD HE'S JUST BEING HELPFUL.

Either way, Jimmy lets the feed cut there. Good luck, cause it sounds like you're gonna need it, friend.]

Evolution stones around here are just a little over P2000. I won't ask for anything for myself- we all need help when we're just starting out, after all.

As for jobs, most things aren't too hard, actually! The Pokecenter might be a good place to start, since you can learn about different Pokemon while you're there. Some of the shops accept cashiers, and there are inns where you can cook or do other things.

It's not too hard at all! If you ever need any advice, feel free to ask for it. Plenty of people here like helping.

People... tend to be? I mean, we've all certainly been there before. We can certainly sympathize.

That isn't to say bad things don't happen here, but I like to veer on the side of optimism.

Well... We did just recover from a hurricane with... sharks... it had picked up in it...

[...Still not the weirdest fucking thing he's seen 'tho, sigh.]

There's also, of course, criminals- people who will mug you or steal your Pokemon.

{Welp, now she's embarrassed. Nanao looks away, tucking her hair back behind her ear.}

Just a vague hope that someone else was feeling as lost as I was, I suppose.

My apologies for the intrusion.

Of course, but some people get caught off-guard, or aren't strong enough... There are plenty of reasons.

Not everyone is a fighter, or has a team that can do their fighting for them.
