[There's a... very uncertain-looking young man peering into the camera. He's really not sure what to make of any of this. It's a little hard to believe that he's like this, and he can't morph, and that there are Pokemon.]

I guess... I'm stuck here? No one in town really had anything useful to say. None of this makes much sense. And I'm guessing asking how to get home isn't going to get me any real answers, either.

[There's a squawk off-camera, and he looks concerned for a minute.]

I'm guessing the first step is to head to the next town, right? And start building up a team...

[... Why did he make this broadcast anyway?]

... If anyone's got any advice for that kind of thing, feel free to give it.

[He clicks the broadcast off.]

[He's not in New Bark Town anymore. He's nearby, but he's sitting in a small area free of tall grass, staring down his Pokemon. What's a Rufflet, anyway? ... At least the body language is familiar. He holds out his hand, waiting for the little Pokemon to approach.]

There are a lot of things like that...the way people repeat themselves, the background music...it's enough to give you a headache if you think about it too hard.

Welcome to this world! It can be pretty fun and challenging, depending on your approach to Pokemon.

I can give you some advice. Which one do you want first?

I guess the others told you, but you would need other types to cover weaknesses. At very least, I would suggest a water type since they can use water and ice moves.

Uh... Rufflet. It's a flying type, I think.

A flying type. So you gotta have a Pokemon or two to deal with rock, ice and electric at least. I know you can get a Mareep near Violet for your electric needs. Normal types in general can learn a lot of different moves if you find someone you like.

I'm guessing fire beats ice. I'm not sure what beats the others, though.

You think so? I dunno, I just kinda...went along with it. I'm not a breeder or anything, but I have had a bunch of eggs hatch while I was traveling with them before.

Oh, by the way! If you can get a fire type, try to look for one with an ability called Flame Body. My Volcarona has that, and that makes my eggs hatch twice as fast.

Rock is weak against grass, water, fighting, ground and steel. Electric's only weak against ground. You're right about ice being weak to fire, but it's also weak to fighting, rock and steel as well.
