It's pretty fun. I'm kind of nervous about performing in front of people, though. I'm uh... not exactly the kind of person who commands a spotlight well.
[He perks up at the mention of a Cubone though.]
Oh! Cubones are pretty great. Hang on a sec...
[He fumbles with the Gear and pulls out a Pokeball, before releasing a Marowak. He turns the camera so Jimmy can see him, and the Pokemon waves.]
This is Riley. He's a Marowak, which is what Cubone evolves into.
Lemme let you in on a little secret about holding a spotlight. It's all faking it. Put on a persona, make it an act, it's much easier than just being you out there. Trust me, I grew up in a traveling show.
[Riley starts wandering around, so Tobias turns the camera back to himself.]
I'm... trying. Everyone at the circus has been really nice, though, so I'm getting better at it. What kind of stuff did you do in the circus you grew up in?
No, not a circus. A traveling show. Music acts and jugglers and...that kind of thing. I did a little of everything. Juggling, singing, hawking tickets, warming up the crowd...
[He's still not comfortable opening up about the fact it was a freak show.]
I talked to the guy that runs the circus here once, seemed like a nice guy.
I lived in California near the ocean. It gets pretty hot there, though not as muggy as Florida, I think. But there's plenty of jerks. I kept running into them at school.
Oh hey, I've spent time in California. Not in a long time, but when I was young we had a winter gig there for a few years in a row. Down south, by Escondido.
I think I like the west coast better than the east coast. People seem...I dunno, more relaxed. Don't get all upset over stupid stuff all the time. It's easier out there for some people in the show, you know? We got people from all over performing with us, if you catch my drift.
Hey, Tobias! Have you noticed all these feathers all over the place? I've got one and I've been trying to figure out what kinda Pokemon they might belong to, but they don't match up to any of the birds I have....
Hey, Jimmy. I've got no idea what they're from. I've been trying to figure it out. They're some kind of tail or flight feather, I think. They're too solid to be downy or semiplume feathers.
... But I've never seen a Pokemon with this kind of feather, and the way it's curved is... weird. If we were on Earth I'd say that nothing could really fly very well with how curved it is... but I don't know. There's also no way a single Pokemon could lose that many feathers and still be flying around.
