Info: Shaun didn't really remember where he got Chase – he woke up one day with an extra Pokeball with a friendly level 13 Charmander inside. But he remembered dreaming about his dad and his brother, and since Charizard is the version mascot for Red (which was the game Jason had, and the starter he chose), and Jason would have been 13 if he were still alive, Shaun (unknowingly) came to the same conclusion that he had when he first met Chase – the fire lizard was somehow sent to him by his dad and his brother. Shaun ended up briefly trading Chase to a boy named Sollux who taught him HM02 when Shaun turned to the network in desperation needing to get to New Bark Town after Norman's first disappearance and reappearance in Johto. Tobias struggles a little to get Chase to listen to him, but he's working on it. He's just a little nervous around such a large and powerful Flying type that he didn't raise on his own.
